Have you ever wondered what real love feels like? I see people finding happiness in each other, and I'm genuinely happy for them. But sometimes, I wonder what it feels like to love someone so deeply that their absence hurts. 🥀
What Does Love Feel Like? ❤️
I don't know what real love feels like. Sometimes, I imagine it's beautiful, but other times, I think it's an ache. Something that makes you smile when the person is around but leaves an emptiness when they're gone.
I wonder what it feels like to have someone who genuinely cares about you, someone who notices when you're not okay even when you keep saying you are. Someone who listens to your little stories, remembers the things you like, and checks on you simply because you crossed their mind.
I wonder what it feels like to be someone's favourite person, to know that somewhere in this world, there's a person who feels lucky to have you.
I've seen people experience that kind of happiness. I've watched them smile at their phones, laugh at messages nobody else understands, and talk about someone as if that person makes their entire day better.
And honestly, it makes me happy to see them happy.
The Pain of Losing Someone 💔
But I also wonder about the painful side of love.
What happens when the person who once made you smile becomes the reason you cry? What happens when the voice you used to look forward to hearing becomes the voice you can no longer listen to without feeling something break inside you?
I imagine losing someone you truly love must hurt in ways that are difficult to explain. It's not just missing their presence. It's missing the little things, the conversations, the laughter, and the comfort of knowing they were there.
Sometimes, I think about how much a person can mean to another person.
If crying could make someone blind, I would have been blind a long time ago.
Maybe that's why the thought of loving someone scares me a little. How can something so beautiful have the power to hurt so deeply?
Happy for Others, Still Wondering About Myself 🥹
Despite all these thoughts, I still find happiness in seeing other people happy.
When my friends talk about love, I listen. When they tell me about someone who treats them well, I smile. I want them to experience the kind of happiness they deserve.
I don't want anyone to lose something beautiful just because I haven't experienced it myself.
But sometimes, when I'm alone with my thoughts, I wonder when I'll have a story of my own to tell.
Will I ever meet someone who makes me understand why people write poems about love? Will I ever look at someone and feel grateful that our paths crossed?
I don't know.
Maybe love will find me when I least expect it. Maybe I'll discover that real love isn't always about grand gestures or beautiful words. Maybe it's about the little things: feeling understood, being respected, laughing together, and knowing that you don't have to pretend to be someone else to be loved.
For now, I'll keep being happy for others. I'll keep believing that beautiful things can happen, even when I haven't experienced them myself.
And perhaps, one day, I'll understand what love truly feels like.
Until then, I'll keep wondering.
Because I may not know what real love feels like, but I know I want it to be something worth the wait❤️🩹
According to psychologists, true love is built on intimacy, passion, and commitment.
