"Amara! Get downstairs immediatelhat does this man want again?" I whispered.
When I got downstairs, I saw a man sitting beside myfather.
My heart skipped.
Daniel Anderson.
The arrogant boy who had made my life miserable since we were teenagers.
"What is HE doing here?" I asked.
Daniel looked at me and smirked.
"Nice to see you too, princess."
"Don't call me that!"
My father cleared his throat.
"Both of you, sit down. We have something important to discuss."
I folded my arms.
"Make it quick, Dad."
He took a deep breath.
"Amara, you and Daniel are getting married."
Silence.
I stared at him.
Then I laughed.
"That's a joke, right?"
Nobody laughed.
I turned towards Daniel. He was calmly sipping his water.
"Tell them you're not interested!" I shouted.
He placed his glass on the table and looked directly into my eyes.
"Unfortunately, sweetheart, I have agreed."
My mouth fell open.
I couldn't believe it.
I was going to marry my biggest enemy.
And this was only the beginning.
