Finding Yourself Between Dreams and Reality

Life in Asaba taught me that becoming who you want to be is not about big moments, but the small stories we live every day.

Finding Yourself Between Dreams and Reality

Some days, life feels like you are standing between who you are and who you want to become.

I am Chiemelie, a young writer living in Asaba, and for a long time I thought I needed to have everything figured out. I thought success meant moving far away or becoming someone else. I was wrong.

The Lessons Asaba Taught Me

Living here teaches you resilience. The noise, the hustle, the laughter, the rain that comes without warning. Every day is a story.

I learned that growth does not happen in big, dramatic moments. It happens in small choices. Choosing to write when no one is reading. Choosing to try again after a job application fails. Choosing to be kind even when life is hard.

Why Your Story Matters

For a long time, I did not think my own life was interesting enough to write about. I thought writers needed extraordinary lives.

Then I realized, everyday life is extraordinary.

Your morning routine. Your friendship gist. Your struggle with work or school. Someone out there needs to read that and know they are not alone.

When I started writing about my real experiences, people connected. Not because I was perfect, but because I was honest.

Becoming Through Writing

Writing gave me a voice. It turned my confusion into clarity. It turned my city, my dreams, and my everyday life into something meaningful.

On Lanvars, I share stories about life, growth, and becoming. Not as an expert who has it all figured out, but as someone who is still on the journey.

If you are also trying to find your path, know this: you do not need to wait until you arrive to start telling your story. Your present is already worth sharing.

Every day in Asaba gives me new reasons to keep writing, keep dreaming, and keep becoming.

So, what story are you living right now?
