I Received a Voice Note From My Dead Number… But I Was Still Alive
At exactly 2:13 AM, my phone received a WhatsApp message from my own number.
I thought it was a glitch.
Until I opened it.
It was a voice note.
The strange thing was that I hadn't recorded anything.
I pressed play.
At first, there was silence. Then I heard someone breathing before a familiar voice whispered:
"Don't open the door. No matter what happens, don't open it."
I froze.
It was my voice.
Before I could replay it, another message arrived.
This time, it was a photograph.
It showed my bedroom.
My bed. My wardrobe. My window.
And me, sleeping.
I immediately sat up and looked around the room. Everything seemed normal.
Then I noticed something.
The photograph had been taken from inside my bedroom, facing my bed.
But I lived alone.
My hands started shaking as I typed:
"Who is this?"
The reply came almost instantly.
"Don't turn around."
I stared at the screen.
Then I heard three gentle knocks behind me.
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
I couldn't move.
Another message appeared.
"Whatever you hear next, don't answer."
Suddenly, my mother's voice came from outside my bedroom.
She called my name and asked me to open the door.
I almost answered.
But then my phone vibrated again.
One final message appeared:
"That's not your mother. I'm the one hiding under your bed."
I slowly looked down.
There was nothing there.
I wanted to scream, but before I could do anything, my phone received another voice note.
I pressed play.
This time, the voice wasn't whispering.
It was crying.
It said:
"Please wake up. You're not supposed to be reading this yet."
I dropped my phone.
The bedroom door slowly opened.
And standing outside was...
Me.
Same face. Same clothes. Same expression.
It looked at me and smiled.
Then it said:
"Finally. You found the message."
The next morning, my phone was found on the floor.
There was no sign of anyone in the bedroom.
But WhatsApp showed one strange thing.
A new status had been posted from my account at 2:13 AM.
It contained only five words:
"I'm still inside the phone."
And the worst part?
The status had 47 views.
One of them was my own number.
