THE DAY MY LIFE CHANGED

A childhood filled with confusion, bullying, fear and unanswered questions. After sharing an experience I couldn’t explain about seeing the Holy Spirit, I became a target of ridicule in secondary school. Things took another turn when my father took me to a church, where female pastors requested to speak with me privately. Behind that moment were experiences I never fully understood, struggles with bedwetting and memories that stayed with me for years. This is the story of a little girl whose life changed in ways she never expected.

THE DAY MY LIFE CHANGED

There are things that happen to us as children that we grow up carrying in silence. Some memories never leave, no matter how hard we try to forget them.

I was once a young girl who didn’t understand what was happening around her. I was innocent, confused and too young to explain the strange things I experienced.

My story began when I was still in secondary school.

I remember telling people that I thought I had seen the Holy Spirit. I didn’t know how to explain what I had experienced, and honestly, I wasn’t even sure what I had seen. I was just a child trying to make sense of something I couldn’t understand.

But instead of receiving understanding, I became a target.

My classmates started bullying me. They laughed at me, called me names and made me feel like there was something wrong with me. Every school day became another opportunity for someone to remind me of that experience.

I became uncomfortable around people. I started keeping things to myself because I was afraid of being laughed at again.

But that wasn’t even the beginning of the painful memories.

One day, my father decided to take me to a church. I didn’t know exactly why we were going or what was going to happen there.

When we arrived, some female pastors approached us. After speaking for a while, they asked if they could see me alone.

I looked at my father.

To my surprise, he agreed.

I was taken away from where my father was sitting, and suddenly, I found myself in a situation I didn’t fully understand.

I was young. I trusted the adults around me. I didn’t know what questions to ask, and I certainly didn’t know what was about to happen.

But there was another problem I had been struggling with for a long time.

BEDWETTING.

It was something that followed me for years, something I was deeply ashamed of and something that made my childhood even more difficult.

I thought it was just another embarrassing problem I had to live with.

Little did I know that the events surrounding my childhood would leave me with questions I would carry for years.

And what happened after those female pastors asked to see me alone?

That is a story I have never found the courage to tell completely.
