THE PRICE OF TRUST
Chapter One: A Heart Full of Hope
Amara was a young, beautiful woman who believed that love was one of the most beautiful things in life. She believed in honesty, loyalty, and the idea that two people could build a beautiful future together if they truly loved each other.
But life had other plans for her.
After experiencing several disappointments, Amara promised herself that she would never allow anyone to play with her feelings again. She focused on becoming independent, building her dreams, and making her family proud.
She wasn’t looking for a perfect man. All she wanted was someone who would understand her, respect her, protect her heart, and stand beside her even when life became difficult.
One evening, while scrolling through her phone, she received a message from a man named Daniel.
“Hello, beautiful. How was your day?”
It was an ordinary message, but something about the conversation made her smile.
They started talking every day. Their conversations became longer, their laughter became frequent, and slowly, Daniel became someone she looked forward to hearing from.
Daniel told her he wanted something serious. He spoke about marriage, travelling together, building a home, and growing old with someone he could call his best friend.
Amara wanted to believe him.
But there was one thing she had learned from her past: beautiful words were easy to say, but actions were what truly mattered.
She decided to take her time.
Little did she know that the man who was slowly winning her heart was hiding a secret that would change everything.
And when the truth finally came out, Amara would have to make the hardest decision of her life.
Would she follow her heart, or would she finally choose herself?
Chapter Two: The Secret Behind His Smile
Three months had passed since Amara and Daniel started talking. What began as a simple online conversation had slowly turned into something deeper.
Daniel called her every morning and checked on her before going to bed. He made her feel special in ways she had almost forgotten.
One Saturday evening, Daniel called her.
“Amara, I want you to know that you’re different from every woman I’ve ever met. I can see myself spending the rest of my life with you.”
Amara smiled.
“Daniel, I just want something genuine. I’m tired of people pretending to love me when they have other intentions.”
He laughed softly.
“You don’t have to worry about that. I’m not going anywhere.”
For the first time in a long while, Amara allowed herself to believe that maybe she had finally found the love she deserved.
But a few days later, something strange happened.
Daniel accidentally sent her a message that wasn’t meant for her.
The message read:
“Baby, I’ll call you when I’m done talking to her. Don’t worry, she doesn’t know anything about us.”
Amara stared at her phone.
Her heart began beating faster.
Who was he talking about?
And who was the other woman?
She immediately called Daniel, but his phone was switched off.
She tried again and again, but there was no answer.
That night, Amara couldn’t sleep. Her mind was filled with questions.
The following morning, Daniel finally called.
“Good morning, sweetheart,” he said cheerfully.
Amara didn’t respond with her usual excitement.
“Daniel, who is the other woman?”
There was silence.
For almost thirty seconds, neither of them spoke.
Then Daniel finally said something that made Amara’s heart sink.
“Amara, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.”
She swallowed hard.
“What is it?”
Daniel took a deep breath.
“I’m married.”
Amara’s phone almost slipped from her hand.
Married?
The same man who had promised her forever?
The same man who spoke about building a home with her?
She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
But what Daniel said next was even more shocking.
“My wife is pregnant.”
And just like that, the beautiful future Amara had imagined began to fall apart.
